Forming part of the award-winning redevelopment at Battersea Power Station, the engine room is home to a luxurious co-working space split across two levels. With an art-deco inspired interior, The engine room contains a small coffee shop area, high-end hybrid workspaces, meeting rooms, individual offices, collaborative spaces and a members lounge.
The client required a room-divider that would suit the art-deco interior, and provide drama and intrigue to the space. The solution could not compromise the aesthetics and had to be versatile enough to not interfere with the area when not in use. And to make things just a little more interesting, the solution had to be fitted on support beams at a height of 6.5m!
The specification used two SG 5600 curved motorised curtain tracks suspended on beams using V-and-vertical hangers all precisely measured to cope with the weight of the long, heavy curtains. Both systems are controlled using radio hand-held remote controls with the reassurance of the manual override in the event of a power failure.
Additional SG 6870 manual wave curtain tracks face fixed with Smart Fix brackets were specified for the meeting rooms and individual offices.
