GSK’s new 150,000 sq. ft. Central London office redefines workspace innovation, accommodating 3,000 employees while targeting BREEAM Outstanding certification for sustainability.
Silent Gliss was tasked with delivering automated shading solutions across 10 floors, balancing functionality, energy efficiency, and aesthetic appeal. The project demanded motorised curtains and seamless integration of advanced control systems to enhance energy efficiency.
Over 250 curtains hang on Silent Gliss electric and hand-operated curtain tracks integrated into a KNX building automation system. This solution reduced glare and solar heat gain while significantly cutting embodied carbon through streamlined cabling and installation.
GSK’s new office exemplifies how innovative shading solutions can elevate workspace design while meeting ambitious environmental targets. Silent Gliss’s extensive expertise in electric curtain tracks and automated systems played a key role in this project, where eco-conscious innovations were tailored to the needs of modern architecture.
